Dyson DC14 All Floors

Vacuuming: excellent - the best machine I've used for lifting carpet dust. At its best on large carpets. Dust container is easy to empty and cleverly designed to minimise spillage while emptying. The air does seem cleaner after a room been "vac'd"!

Heavy and cumbersome in restricted spaces. The attachment is often "fiddly" (ie awkward) to use; it takes several steps to assemble and the "crevice tool" should not be angled. The attachment is an unwelcome hassle which needs re-designing to make it simpler and quicker to use.

I would look for design improvements of the attachments before buying another DC14. The machine is a very effective carpet cleaner, but is let down by the fiddly assembly of the hose attachments. Improve these and Dyson will have a clear winner.

Not edge to edge cleaning, hose could be a bit more adaptable to use.

Pricey at the time, but I would definately say I got my moneysworth. I have recommended Dyson to a number of my friends & family.

A very good product, it picks up well on both carpet and wooden floors

It is very heavy, very difficult when doing stairs as the extending tube doesn't reach the top.

Filtration is superb, I am an alergy sufferer and useing this vacume does not affect me in any way. It works well over all types of flooring.

When useing the hose extended the suction causes the hose to colapse and the vacum cleaner hurtles to you, it could do with having a wheel brake to stop this.

The dyson purchased is of great convenience to any home/office e.t.c.It is very powerful and picks up lots of dirt,including dust.The rubbish is also easily removable.

This product is very heavy,and sweeping the stairs with the telescope wand is very tiring ,and once again very heavy.

The DC14 appears smaller and lighter than my previous DC04. Another major plus is the way you can empty it at the push of a button, instead of taking it to bits and getting covered in dust.

The shape of the crevis tool makes it awkward to use in narrow places where you thinl it is designed for. No where near as good as the DC04 style

The DC14 is an overall improvement on previous models, but not on some smaller features

Design, Very space age. Powerful motor, almost lifts the carpet! Long hose for the stairs & curtains. The attachments clip firmly to the side, & don't keep falling off as with earier Dyson's. Enclosed dust container, clean & efficient, a good idea.

None that springs to mind

Very good design together with excellent & powerful performance. Very pleased with the purchase, and would not hesitate to recommend this tool. In fact, my sister has purchased one on my recommendation.

The product itself is very good, It's easy to use and nice and tidy. Overall a very good product.

Initially, we had difficulty taking the dirt collector off, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy....!!! It gets clogged up quite easily, however once cleaned it's back to normal.. One of the attachments doesn't stay on very easily (not the carpet brush or the other flat one, the tall thin one). It's comes off when you're trying to hoover around.

A very good product, I would buy another. I'll just keep the attachments seperate.

Amazing cleaning - quite scary to see how much dirt my old vacuum cleaner hadn't been picking up. Cleverly designed and easy to use.

It is quite heavy - twice the weight of my old vacuum cleaner. If you're not particularly strong or have lots of stairs in your house it would be worth considering the slimline option instead.

Dirt extraction amazing. I now realise how much dirt was being left behind by my old vacuum cleaner.

The best vacuum cleaner we have ever had! It does an excellent job at keeping our carpets cleaned, especially with a baby and a dog! It even cleaned our car well. Though the initial cost is quite large, for us it has been worth the extra money. The only thing I have a problem with once in a while is the hose and attachments on it when doing the stairs, but it's mostly because the suction is so fantastic, it's difficult to keep the hose extended because it wants to just suck right back in! But, I'd rather clean carpets, than worry about whether or not the hose is easy to extend. You can even see all the dust and fine dirt it continues to suck up from the depths of your carpet. Overall, worth every penny, and definitely gives you peace of mind that you truly have vacuumed your carpets!

This Dyson is a bit heavy. However the design has improved since the last Dyson I bought and it is robust and very efficient.

Lighter than the older models, excellent pick up and better designed tools

A bit noisier than the old version - scares my baby!! A bit complicated to use the long reach section at first, but OK once you've got the hang of it!

We are delighted with our dyson allergy. The carpets appear much cleaner than with previous vacum cleaner.

Our only complaint would be the wand for cleaning stairs, corners is a touch akward to get out.

Suction too powerful. Thus causing the hose to collapse and the cleaner is differcult to move over longer pile carpets. To over come this the Dyson Service Endgineer said partley remove a suction coupling and this does partly solve the problem. When used on stairs the cleaning head seems to be at the wrong angle,

I think this coupling should be redigned with a varible adjustable bypass valve. Overall pleased with the unit. Please with assistance given by Dyson.

Excellent pick up on both carpets and polished floors. Retrieves twice as much debris as any other vacuum used previously by ourselves. No bags to buy & system is very easy to empty when full

Flexible hose removal is sometimes difficult to achieve. ie when vacuuming stairs etc

Overall it outperforms other products used to date.

I love the long extendable pipe great for stairs and it goes great on all my floors very good suction dog hairs gone in a flash and my dogs got lots to come out what a nightmare made easy with my dyson

needs a better nozzel for cleaning stairs the straight ones doesnt lift the piles and the flat one doesnt get into the corners and the brush one doesnt do much the bristles are to soft and to long get this sorted and the hoover will be unbeatable

A very powerful vacuam cleaner, great at picking up dog hair. Now comes with a 5 year gaurantee, which is longer than any Dyson I've owned has lasted so far!

My previous experience, DC1, DC4 & DC14 animal, is that Dyson's are not the hardest wearing

Excellent performance & versatility, whether on carpets or hard-surfaces. 5 year guarantee. Read the Which? report, it came top. Easy to understand why. Remember that not all "Bagless" vacuum cleaners are "Cyclonic". Only Dysons.

Its too top heavy and falls over very easily. You have to make sure to standing against something. Its too high to vacuum under beds. My old Dyson was able to do this.

I always seem to have difficulty in assembling and de-assembling the tools attachements. For some reason its not as simple as my previous Dyson and can be frustrating at times

Cleans well, no need to purchase consumables

Very cumbersome. Almost impossible to use the tools as the hose tries to collapse itself to its minimum length because of the high suction. Trying to clean stairs is an experience as the hose is pulling all the time. You have to be fit and strong to use this cleaner.

It does exactly as advertised - picks up everything from your carpets. It is everything my other vacuum wasn't.

Brilliant hoover, does exactly what it says on the tin.

High pithced noise while in motion, but you get used to it quite quickly, and benefits far out weigh the noise.

Excellent at picking up dirt and the tools are much easier to use than the old model. I much prefer the easy-empty canister.

Still a little heavy and difficult to manoevre into tight spaces. Using the attachments still requires quite a deal of effort and swaping and changing of tools but it is better than before.

The flexible hose in not prticularly flexible and does not reach up the strairs easily. This results in the vacuum having to be placed on the steps behind whch is dangerous. The tools are "fiddly" to get out of the units hut work well once constructed.

seems lighter than my old DC04 and therefore alot more portable, attachments are also more solidly in place on my old DC04 they fell off all the time. Also like the carpet/hard floor adjuster which is very useful

haven't really found one yet, I guess as with all dyson's in comparison to other hoovers they are heavy but they also in my opinion hoover much better than other models I have used in the past

The flexible tube extention gives a better and flexible way to clean where the ridgid cleaner does not. No Bag. DUST IN DUST OUT.

Hard floors do not seem to be able to clean as effectively as carpets.
