The Panasonic Viera range recently occupied the top eight 'Best Buy' positions in a 'Which?' survey of flat panel TVs, and having just bought the TX26LMD70, I can see why. With good, strong colours and depth of blacks, the picture is bright and natural. Sound deinition is really good, once you have fiddled around to get it to your taste. And the package is stylish and good looking. I would definitely recommend this set.
Not bad points, but niggles... SOUND: The sound set up has only two basic settings: Speech and Music, together with bass and treble adjustments. I have always believed that you should be able to set a sound system to 'Flat' so you can hear everything just as the sound engineer intended, so why don't Panasonic include this setting in the menu? Speakers are fine, however, so once you've set it up right, the sound is very punchy and clear. VISION: This is not a criticism of just Panasonic, but, it seems, of all digital video systems, and that is the problem of it being non-analogue. This means that all the colours have to step from one value to the next digitally. The effect of this is that it is impossible to get a smooth gradient of colour across the screen - and this in turn leads to odd fringing effects, especially when a gradient of colour is faded in or out - fringes appear to move across the screen as the brightness of the image changes. Panasonic sets in particular seem to deal with this problem reasonably well, but not entirely.

Its just a top quality product. The sound and visual quality is perfect, and for the price you cant really go wrong. I wouldnt look back, and if I wanted a 2nd TV, I'd buy the same one over and over again. It also is amazing for the PS3 running at 1080 in HD. Top purchase
I cant really fault the product - I guess the only thing I have found is it sometimes changes screen size, but that might be down to the TV Channel I am watching!!

excellent picture and sound quality, easy to set up. we have fitted to the wall on an extendable bracket which works well overall for us.
I don't think i have found any bad points as yet, the only one point i can think of is that the actual casing of the tv is quite deep so does stand slightly proud of the wall but overall this does not cause a problem.

Brilliant picture which can be viewed at a wide angle. Easy controls for the TV
Remote only works other Panasonic devices and my hard disk recorder remote does not work all the functions on the TV. Guess I need to buy a Panansonic recorder!

Easy to set up. Excellent picture quality, which is the most important aspect. Good looking without overpowering the room. Good value for money.
Had to but a new digital ariel to get the picture quality, but would have had to do that with any digital TV.

Picture quality is good for an LCD. Slimline design is ideal for wall hanging (with an extra wall hanging bracket).

I have not found anything bad about this television. It is perfect for our needs and I would recommend anyone contemplating buying a new digital freeview TV to seriously consider this model. It is really easy to use and the quality of the picture and sound is in my opinion second to none.

Very easy to setup with lots of options for connections. The surround sound is good and even woks through the headphone socket aswell. Image quality is excellent and I would have gone for a 10 but playback from some recordings on my dvd/hdd recorder (recorded on the hdd) sometimes appear slightly fuzzy although I haven't worked out if its the tv, recorder or a cabling issue as yet. Other than that can't fault it.
None really. The only minor annoyance is that the option to switch the speakers off doesn't always work properly but you can always turn the sound rght down if required.

Beautifully sharp pictures and superb image quality. Initial set-up automatic and extremely easy. Tremendous control over all features in the set-up process - i.e. assignment of signals to AV1 scart, AV2 scart, HDMI, Component video, etc.
Not discovered any after several weeks of use!

It's not flash (but then it might have features that I don't use) - it's just got a feel of quality about it, and the independant reviews seemed to praise the picture quality.

Overall I am very pleased with the product and have no complaints. It was easy to set up and the picture and sound quality are very good. There are connections for 2 HD cables, an optical cable and video input and output. It works well with my home cinema system and sky box.

I know know why its rated the best 26" LCD screen! Its living up to all its reviews.
As you would expect with any LCD / Plasma (well all the ones ive seen), the speakers are not as powerfull as your old fashioned box tellys. I new this so utilised the Viera link to connect a Panasonic 2.1 home theatre system with DVD player and its like being at the movies without loads of speakers dotted about the room.

All the connections that you would expect, very good picture and sound. This was a secondary TV, however, given the quality I will now be looking to replace my main TV set (which was a 37" top of the range 5 year old CRT; the Panasonic flat panel out performs it by far).
None that I have found.

Quality of the LCD panel.
Doesn't seem to be a way to turn the back-light down on the panel (it's sometimes to bright when watching films in the dark), apart from this no real problems.

You're unlikely to have many problems with this tv. The picture quality is excellent and the sound is also very good. Lots of inputs if you need them. Haven't tried any HD television yet but I imagine the tv would perform very well.
No bad points at all, this tv is excellent. I did a lot of research before buying a tv and this tv had the best reviews for the price. It is one of the more expensive 26 inch tvs - higher quality costs a lot though - you can get some poor quality 32 inch tvs for a lot cheaper but if you want a tv that you're going to be proud you paid a bit more for then this is a good option.

Very aesthetic shell, simple effective design, no shiny casing so no reflections therefore better viewing experience. Image quality is great with lots of options for tweaking the image to get it right for your viewing distance. All details in spec accurate. Light and easy to move around. Lots of inputs inc. 2 x HDMI. No side effects.
The first one I got started buzzing, but was replaced and has been fine since, a small bump.

If you want a decent sized screen which is not too big for the normal size of lounge this is for you. The TV looks good and whilst not as slimline as some others it is still very neat. The on/off button on the top is an excellent design feature.
None really - I suspect that the bases on which most of these TVs stand are a bit flimsy but time will tell!.....
