+ Compact. Neat.

- How do you make it work? Still having trouble with recording and pre-programming!

Could do with better operating instructions. Even if you follow them to the letter, still can't get it to record.

+ DVD also plays CD photo and Video, that most of other Makes will not do

- VCR does not automatically mark the begining of recording, for rewinding the recording for wieving

Picture and sound quality are ehcellent.

+ Easy to set up and easy to use especially as it has 'Video Plus' programming. A nice suprise last week was that it corrected itself to the correct time when the clocks changed.

Bought as a Christmas gift so product not in my home

+ The DVD side is good. It multitasks well and looks good

- The VCR side is ppor. It automatically finds the station, allocates the numbers etc and then uses this for videoplus etc. It simply is of avery poor standard, so poor I would comment that it does not do the job for which it was pruchased and I would retun it if it was a viable reason. The video playback is shadowy, grainy and of very poor quality. The handset is overcpomplex and the handbook is too coplicated but yet not detailed enough; e.g it does not tell you that to record on timer, you have to double click a button, it assumed you know!

Poor. It does not do the job well enough. buy a cheaper one that actually records well and has a nandbook that tells you what you ned to know. I will seriously reconsider my previous allegiance to Philips after this purchase (Stereo, TV, previous video, TV/Vid combo).

+ It works well and is an attractive design.

- The remote control functions are a bit hard to use, particularly fast forward / rewind on the DVD player. I have a Philips DVD recorder that has a similar remote control with a similar button arrangment and button functions. I find that the design of both in respect to button arrangement and function is mediocre to poor.

+ Good looking with good features and DivX ability

- Useless remote control, too many buttons and you still have some functions that require two or three steps (changing tape from LP to SP)

Overall comment would be average video with good dvd playback...If it had not gone faulty within three weeks of light usage

+ easy to understand and operate
