+ Looks good and copying cd's to the hard disc is easy
- no am on radio

+ The sound is incredible from such a relatively small device. There is no real distortion even when cranked up high playing heavy bass tracks. Wireless connection to the satellite station is near perfect. It looks fantastic! Built in GraceNotes. Can be hung on the wall. Large storage capacity.
- Navigation through the menus etc is a little slow. The base station is a little chunky to hang on the wall but if positioned where it will not get knocked then this is not an issue.

+ Storage space for all music
- No software to close gaps between tracks on mixed cds and time taken to rip CDs

+ Wi-fi technology where music can be accessed all over the house and through your pc at each station - gives huge flexibility where everyone wants to listen to different things but with the adavantage of having one admin/control point. Clears up all those CD's and allows a huge library of music in one place but accessible from all over the house. Can be plugged into your DVD/TV. I liked the fact that you could listen to anything in any room without having to use your PC as the control point, it is totally independant from the computer or can be linked to it.
- Wi-fi is still a little unreliable - not very good in old houses with thick walls, you have to place your stations with thought. Linking the system to your PC for streaming music is a real pain, not easy to do, although I'm sure there will others who will find it easy! Hard drive is so big you really do need to have a good handle on what music you have placed on it, even creating playlists gets tedious because it holds so much music. I haven't played a track in between C and W since I got the system!

+ great that you can store all of your cds, however slightly annoying that you have to update the hard drive. looks fantastic
- would have been good to have a digital radio an a shuffle button to choose hard drive songs.

+ Excellent build quality and relatively easy to use. Well supported by Philips with software updates to improve performance and functionality. Good radio receiver and good centre to station communications over its in-built WiFi. Also connects to PCs over WiFi to play music stored on PC. Plays music from USB devices such as pen drives and disk drives.
- Not as much volume as I expected. No DAB radio. Menus not as responsive as I hoped for.

+ Easy to set up, clear instructions, easily connected to pc via WiFi, ripping of cd's indredibly easy, either on machine or via pc.
- Display in colour would have been nice. A little slow to respond and if music broadcast is being used, sometimes theres a slight delay on the broadcast, causing echo effect.

+ Compact, Good Sound, Excellent Memory Size
- It doesn't always accept a CD at the first attempt and sometimes requires the user to retry numerous times

+ Looks and performance
- Not easy to download from the pc and the screen on the unit and the hand remote do not really match the design of the unit = they look old school whilst the units look really contemporary

Geoffrey, Bridgend, “yes but with reservations”
+ Really good sound performance and ease of use. Great overall design
- Remote for main station could be more responsive. When installing new audio tracks, data for previously installed audio tracks can become corrupted

+ The sound on this system is brilliant and you can load your cd^s in minutes very easy to use
- none

+ 80GB streaming by Philips in such a sexy style, for that price is great!
- But not very loud speakers, tiny letters displayed on remote require squinting, and trying to connect to my home wi-fi (which is NOT necessary for the Philips base station to connect with the satellite station), so I can stream updated to the system from my computer requires you to understand IPs and DNS and lots of other acronyms. It's not easy and I've already wasted a few hours trying to make it work so that it runs smoothly.

- Bit expensive..... especially to add extra stations..should get a discount !

+ A compact way of storing music. Looks good. Facility to move from room to room is excellent. Additional stations would be great but a bit expensive
- Wireless connections are a bit fragile if connecting to a compter. Hangs up in the middle of downloads

+ I think it looks good, my friends comment on that fact. There is a massive hard drive. I can record from the radio if I want to. I can connect it to my PC. I haven't used all the features yet.
- The radio is not digital, but that will probably come. It doesn't affect the sound quality.

Richard, Horringer
+ Does everything it says it does. The instructions are easy to understand.
- If you want to know the time, the unit goes back to stand-by mode; you then have to turn it on and off again to switch completely off. If you are not linked to a computer because of equipment being in different rooms, Gracenote is of no use.

+ Stylish, all your music in one place, the ability to have your music follow you to which ever room your in depending on stations of course. To create playlist and link up with a pc and internet. Ability to link to another amp and speakers.
- Not enough control over bass. When turning up the volume does not really mean you want all the bass to go with it as it can reverberate thru everything.

+ looks good and a good idea
- the cd upates are poor and most of my cds track listings are not on there....

+ easy to use
- cannot get it to connect to the internet

+ The product is great for sound and I have saved several hundred cds onto the system, it is user friendly to play music.
- The gracenote updates do not seem to work, and it seemed to be quite an out of date version on the system. It does not recognise any cd's which are under 2 years old. I have been onto club philips and downloaded the updates and my system days it is updating gracenote but afterwards it still does not recognise the cds. I also tried to download the updates and save them onto a cd and put that into the system, which the instructions say you can also do, but it would not recognise the disc.

+ versitility and design also it ability to to moved.Sound quality for its size is impressive.
- a bit fiddley seting it up and the master remote control does not provide all the functions
07 Feb 2008
Dawn, Tenterden
+ The Wirless network is excellent as you can play all your music from your computer without the hassel of leads etc.
- The initial setup of the basic features was easy however getting the system to talk to the computer was beyond me and I had to call in a computer chap to set it all up for me as my computer is part of a network system. My husband can't see the controls as the writing is very small - this is not a problem for me. It is a shame that you are unable to download music from a UBS Stick and that you can only play it on the station or centre that the stick is in - it can't be routed through to all stations. The only other bad point is that the volume doesn't go up very high - however it is not a problem if you have enough stations scattered through your house if you are having a party!!

Ian, Bispham Green
+ The only WiFi type system tried that works effectively in all areas of our house.
- Only HD music can be broadcast to all stations
06 Feb 2008
Scott, Cardiff
+ Easy to set up - looks great - sound is strong - wall mountable - great cd storage
- Although wall mountable - its a bit bulkier than anticipated.

+ You can sit back and pick your music using the remote control.
- Chunky, could be slimmer

+ Stylish, great sound, big memory and great portable sister station.
- Sound cuts out when using a microwave, poor remote control, unable to re-start a song without going through long process. Unable to amend track details without using a computer.

+ Alll seem good
- Could do with being a little more powerful, but good quality sound, so satfisfied

Angela, Bournemouth
+ Ability to play music in each room where there is a station. Ability to store CD's and make playlists Ability to arrange playlists using P.C or laptop wirelessly Able to upload music from my laptop to the unit
- Some difficulty connecting laptop wirelessly to the unit, but that may be a firewall problem with Vista as it worked perfectly well with Windows XP

- Wont work in old Victorian refurbs

+ Good sound quality and looks
- radio link between main unit and station can go due to interference from microwave when working and a playstation 3 wireless connection.
06 Mar 2008
Richard, Paisley, Scotland
+ Hard disk storage a good feature. Good compact design. Wifi connection usually reliable.
- Would have been good to have included a DAB Digital radio instead of just an FM one. Occasionally, when using the music broadcast feature the base unit and the satelite unit become out of sync with each other. Screen could do with being a bit larger, sometimes most of the song title is missing.

+ Storage of music
- Networking between units, you really need an existing wireless network for it to work properly
12 Mar 2008
Julian, Essex
+ Both the base and satellite units were extremely easy to set up and to configure. It looks and sounds very good and the technology it uses, ie to allow you to play one track simultaneously on all units; to play different tracks on each unit at the same time; to have a track follow you around the house through each unit is terrific. Also, they are stand alone, plug and play units with only a power lead coming from each ie no separate speakers / cables. I have a very old house with high celings and solid stone walls and yet the streaming of music to all the units is excellent. You can also unplug a satelite unit and then take to another room (ie a guest room if you have people staying), plug it into the power socket and it configures itself in just a few seconds.
- You have to keep connecting the base unit to your computer to download more tracks unless you have wifi.

+ small, compact but offers a lot with the wireless connectivity. Very easy to set up and use.
- sound quality could be better but when you look at the size of the unit it is okay.

+ Looks good when mounted on wall, sound quality is better than i thoiught it would be. quick and easy to burn discs onto system.
- remote is ugly, a bit confusing at times to use.

Keith, Blackpool
+ Great sound - music storage facility excellent still strugling to utilise the memory available.
- The wireless connection is very problematic - particularly during the evening when you most use the system. Have tried all options - grin and bear it as this is the achilles heel of the system.

Ian, Witham, “Music lover”
+ Wireless sound excellent. General design and performance great value.Highly recommended product.
- Cannot record playlists onto disc to use externally. No volume control on portable clock alarm is a major design fault.

+ The Music can be played all over the house, I love it!!! Its looks great too. Also great is it stores all your cd's so you never need to search for them again.

+ versatility of use, able to use satellite station in different location in the home. ease of use. " music follows me" and "broadcast" features. capacity, no need to have original CDs to hand.
- Having to wait for gracenote updates when purchasing new music.
20 Mar 2008

+ access to music anywhere in the house. wireless operation and ease of installation
- display is only visible from a few feet therefore making the remote for additional units almost obsolete

+ For general use it is pretty straight forward
- Connecting to the wireless router has been a nightmare. My father in law is a computer geek and he cannot get this to work. The manual for this area is also terible. It is not compatible with Windows Vista which is also not good

+ Sleek design and easy to operate after initial set-up. Sound quality is pretty good desite no separate speakers.
- Initial set-up was rather complicated and involved some trial-and-error as the instructions are not very clear. Display is rather small and scrolling feature on handset is long-winded (A-Z).
