- Battery life is very poor - constantly having to replace cells.

+ Auto settings work well in most situations. Sunset setting gives pleasing results.
- Picture quality at maximum digital zoom is iffy - go for the X5 optical zoom version if you want to take telephoto-type shots. Battery life is not great, but spare AAs are easy to get and carry. The case which came in the add-on pack at extra expense is robust but has an inadequate magnetic pad closure which opens at the slightest nudge, and it just holds the camera with no room even for a spare memory card never mind batteries.

+ good value for money, takes good pictures
- Battery life very poor, a rechargeable Li-ion would be better. Even when holding the camera very still it still takes a very blurred photo

Malcolm, Grantham, “holiday picture taker”
+ a very easy to use robust little camera with excellent features. At this price it really is very good value for money.
- The bateries should be rechargeable as they run out quickly.

+ Excellent resolution, large screen. Battery life seems surprisingly good.
- I failed to get it to connect to the software by the umbilical cord and have to download photos by taking out the memory card and using a card reader. It may have a problem with ACDC which is my photo management programme.

- really poor battery life allows a max of 20 pictures, which was quite disstressing as we used it for our sons birthday party and couldnt video him blowing out the candles as we had took around 18 to 20 pictures. Took back to shop and told to replace batteries (not very helpful for on hoiday)

+ The amount of mega pixels for the price is excellent.

- It uses upthe rechargable batteries quickly. If dropped the LCD screen breaks easily (happenes with previous version of samsung camera)

+ Good picture quality and features and quite lightweight.
- Batteries die so quick. If you're going out make sure you take more than one set with you. Seems to take blurred pictures rather easy with no antiblur function.

+ An excellent little camera, fairly easy to use, good images on a screen which I am able to see without my glasses Robust in build, probably has lots of features which I havent discovered yet, but very pleased with it and its overall performance
- wish it had a carry case or at least a place to put a carry string

+ Fantastic quality, lots of features, easy to use.
- If you use the zoom you will probably get at the most three photos out of a pair of AA batteries. You need to either invest in rechargable batteries, lithium batteries or expect never to use any of the extra features, which is a real shame. this camera would have been a complete ten out of ten if it had a rechargable battery like the ones you get in a mobile phone. This is the only thing that lets it down.

+ From previous experience, Samsung cameras have good quality lenses and a great LCD screen that's very useful when taking the picture and veiwing it afterwards. This model continues that trend.
- The build quality is possibly not as good as my previous Samsung digital compact camera.

Rosemary, Newhaven
+ Exactly what we wanted, its compact, lightweight, the display is the perfect size to review pictures and the the controls are easy to follow. So far the picures we have printed are brilliant. We have added a 2 MG SD card and this means we can take plenty of photos and quite a lot of video. Once the CD is loaded onto the PC, transferring pictures is very simple.
- None to report at this point
