+ - Very good at image stabilisation, hand held shots come out well with very little judder/shake. This sells the camera on its own! - Good Lens allows plenty of light through. - Zoom (x25) excellent & easy to use, max zoom is obviously a bit shakey as you would expect (use tripod) - Controls are good, touch sensitive screen is easy to navigate. - Hard Drive capacity is plenty & you can take it away for 2 weeks on holiday without the need for downloading. - Software - Burning DVDs is easy either directly from the camera (via PC) or after editing on the PC.

- - Software is OK but very limited editing. You can't upload videos back onto the camera from your PC to take to friends & show on their TV. You have to burn a disc/DVD or have a laptop. - The Atlas case purchased in the 'package' is too big, you need a small Sony case for just the camera itself. - The battery only lasts 45 mins on stop/start recording. Purchased a second battery (quite expensive) but the Sony charger can only charge via the camera. Hence you can't charge one battery whilst using the other, charger needs to accept batteries directly (will probably buy another charger).

+ Easy to use Very high standard definition quality Microphone seems spot on for volume level, noise etc. NightShot plus is fun! Build quality and the feel are top notch

- Battery life is not huge. Accessories are very expensive!

+ Easy to operate, menue is clearly written and guides the user and very light weight.

- Shortish battery life, no case comes with the camera and the view-finder is difficult to use in bright sunlight.

+ Very easy to use as a basic point and shoot. Haven't had time to sit down and work out all the extra features, am one of those people that would love to be shown how to use it rather than read the instructions!!!!

- Having to buy an extra charger if you want to charge battery on its own - I previously had a panasonic and this came with the camera, therefore less bulky when taking it away!
