+ Long battery life (6hrs), excellent picture quality and sound, typical Sony build quality and finish. Great all round item that my young son (6) thinks is brilliant for anywhere movie time. Would recommend this model to anyone looking for a higher end portable dvd player.

- None have shown up yet, obviously more expensive than other manufacturers models, but you expect that for Sony quality equipment.

+ My overall impression of the quality of the Sony, is that you definately get what you pay for. It may be a little dearer than some of the competition but it is well made and looks and feels great. The picture quality of the high resolution screen is excelent! I particularly like the way you can remove a DVD for transit and the unit will remember where you were up to, providing nothing else was played in the meantime. The remote control handset is a useful addition also.So far, the battery life seems to be sufficient to allow a full viewing of the films I've played. The handbook claims that the battery life will improve with each full charge and should allow up to 6hrs with headphone use.We shall see! Sound is good through headphones or external speakers.

- Sound is poor with the onboard speakers. It doesn't have sufficient volume to overcome any background noise. The carrybag supplied, is a very tight fit and could be of better quality but I suppose at least you get one!

+ Extremely good looking. Great screen with a crystal clear picture. Very easy to use with the remote control allowing full functionality. Twin headphone ports ideal for shared viewing. The chargable battery pack allows 6 hours of viewing without comprimising design. Exactly the sort of quality you`d expect from Sony.

- Although the sound quality is spot on, the speaker output is a little quiet without headphones. A small problem on an otherwise great piece of kit.

+ It is easy to set up and use and great to be able to just press the button and be confident your program will be recorded. It is also cleaver and if you try to overlap a program it will offer to record the same program when it is on at another time.

- The handbook is very thick and I am sure if i had the time I could learn to do even more with it. No real bad points.

+ Easy to use with a very good picture quality. Sturdy and has a 'well built' feel to it. Looks good. Remote is also very easy to operate.

- Battery has lasted for no more than two hours so far. Hard to figure what you have to do, to get six hours worth, unless no sound and poorer picture quality than I think is unacceptable. Also, immediate purchase of some portable speakers or earphones will be required as the sound, though very acceptable in terms of qaulity, is not loud enough, at least for me.
