+ Easy to use; good functionality. Once you have planned in your route, you just go and it will take you there.
- As with all GPS devices, having some idea of the route may help to avoid sticky (and potentially dangerous) situations, if going off the beaten track. And, although generally accurate, sometimes you are told you have arrived when in fact you are actually just in the vicinity - hence it is wise to always have a map with you as backup.
A great device that, for long journeys - particularly abroad - means you can just head off and concentrate on driving without worrying too much about the navigation, or having to wake up a sleeping passenger for the latest directions. Recommended.

+ Good Reliability throughout. Great confidence builder when travelling. Seems robust (but see comment on dock below.) Instructions for manoeuvres - roundabouts, turns, etc very well handled by the "voice". "Points of interests" useage was almost magical - especially in the location of hotels.
- Dock broke on third use - know fault - but was replaced immediately without hassle upon return to the UK. Database years out of date in Portugal and parts of Spain and France. eg Many large towns not recognised. Road systems in place many years not shown and even some Roman roads not there!!! System "locked up" several times. I had to get tech assist initialy as there is not a ready reference in the manuals. The unlocking "tit" is tiny and needs a pin to operate. Recommend prominent guidance given on this matter not only in manuals but also on the device.
A first class piece of kit. Without it I would not have undertaken my recent 5000 ml tour of the continent and wouldn't recommend anyone else to try it either! TT gives one total confidence to go "off the beaten track". Portability allows overnight planning away from the vehicle being not tied to it. Of course TT has its quirks and foibles but it is a relatively painless learning curve and its consoistencey, reliability and general ease of use make it a "must have" for touring, never mind its obvious business uses.

+ Easy to understand without reading the manual.
- Windscreen fitting dificult to fit to unit then difficult to fit to car screen. THEN it doesn't make contact and fails to charge until wriggled and moved about on mount to get a contact. Needs resetting frequently. Can't access points of interest until destination is arrived at, when a POI is often where you want to go....
OK. I would stil buy another and recommend to friends.

+ easy to use
- when there is a problem it is impossible to get feedback from Ton Tom. I purchased the traffic update and it still does not work and I cannot get in touch with anybody and my emails go unanswered. A great system if nothing goes wrong but God help you if there is a problem. The system keeps crashing for no reason and I have to reboot the entire system. Not a problem when you are route planning at home but a real nuisance if it happens in traffic on the way the an address that you have not visited before.

+ Traffic Information. USA maps and traffic information. Europe Maps. Speed Camera locations.
- Fitting to suction bracket. Has frozen a couple of times. No easily found support line number. Hands free phone microphone is useless, nobody can hear you.

+ Very good, easy to use and found it useful to know street names and speed limits in France
- Some details were not up to date and unfortunately it crashed as we were coming into Paris (with no streetmap! Sending it back and getting it looked was longwinded and we had no explanation of why it had stopped working when it was returned to us.
I really found it useful driving through France on my own with 2 kids, I knew how long a journey would take etc. However once it crashed I lost confidence in it.

+ Very accurate, good re-routing, easy to see, clear instructions
- Need to have fairly clear & precice destinations to find them in the library of destinations & sometimes takes a while to re-route when you take a different direction than it had planned.

+ This is the second 910 the first was stollen from car. I borught the tom tom as it was the most popular, and iam glad I did the time I have saved not having to look through maps while driving, and the hands free phone is great, It is the best item I have borught this year.
- Don't need the so big hard drive and went to Mexico where it did not work. If you switch it off before you reach your dest when you switch it back on it still directs to that desteven though it is set to ask where to go when start up.
Go for it you wont regret it. ps DONT LEAVE ANY PART EVEN THE MOUNT ON VEIW IN THE CAR.

+ Sreen size, traffic service, connection to mobile, connection to ipod.
- no replacemable battery. Bad design for carrying, all jacks are in the mount. Maps only on device so cannot do roting on computer and download to the device. No track log. can't set zoom.
Overall, the device is excellent.

+ Excellent street level directions in UK and Europe.
- Cannot selectively delete items eg all recent destinations have to be deleted.
An excellent navigation aid.

- Window mount goes floppy especially in the sun. If you don't remember to turn it off, the battery drains and the in car lead is not man enough to re-energise it so you have to re-set it with a pin
It should turn off when the car turns off
27 Nov 2006
Allen, Leeds
+ Large, clear screen. Accurate directions.
- Currently no alternative fixing method (only the very visible suction fastener for the windscreen - a telltale come-and-get-me for thiefs). MP3 player could do with better controls.
Overall, deserves the hype (with only a few niggles). The extra bits from TomTom's website add to it - having the voice of John Cleese giving out directions always adds a smile in a traffic jam!

+ Exceptionally easy to use. Quicky recalculates routes if diversion is necessary. With each new function tried I am more impressed.
- Needs rebooting occasionally which can only be done with a pin head sized object. Would have been good to know about this in advance.

+ ease of use and features were good
- seemed slow to pick up a signal when turned on. no reset button (which is needed)
the first 910 ihad kept freezing i exchanged the unit twice all three had the same fault. when the unit froze you can not turn it on off or anything. tom tom said there is a reset button on the terminals under the unit but on the three i had none would reset. the only thing you could do is let the battery go flat then it would be ok for a while. i took the third unit back and got a refund. come on tom tom sort it out!

+ The size of the screen and ease of use.
- A couple of times I've arrived at my destination but not at the entrance.
A very good buy and one that has taken the stress of driving and reading maps at the same time. Money well spent!

+ I have had a medion, navman, & tomtom navigator in the past but the tomtom go has been the best in terms of ease of use, functions, accuracy and reliability
- Its a bit big to put in your pocket.
highly recomended

+ Reasonably accurate, some difficulty in planning alternative routes. Speed camera detection very good

TomTom service very good and response time excellent

Chris, Newton Abbot, Devon
+ Feature rich, fast, accurate and with great back up from a leading company with innovative products and additional services.
- Not truly portable, but then it doesn't claim to be. If you want a device that you can easily slip in to your pocket fro use whilst walking the 910 is not the choice for you.

+ Easy to use
- Lots of innaccuracies in mapping. Updating with Mac/PC is a problem with constant "errors'. Cost of new maps is very, very high

- ease of use, detection of traffic cameras a little late
28 Nov 2006
Andrew, Dorset
+ Very effective and has lots of points of interest which we found useful looking for airports, shops, restaurants etc
- No handbook - you have to work off the website. It likes motorways and easy routes rather than the sometimes more direct - however we found it usually gives a quick route.

+ Works well and easy to use
- Had a few problems, ie Window holder faulty, rubber mounts fallen off, Locked up, guide booklet lacking, not always announcing correct name for destination i.e. Says Maidenhead when should be Maidstone, Graphics incorrect for road layout. These have all been reported to TomTom and the last two have not been rectified.

+ I've used a few of these systems and the TOM TOM GO 910 is the most acurate and easy to use.
- Can't think of any !
A good all round Sat Nav solution with lots & lots of extras. The software that comes with it for your PC is great too.

+ easy to use striaght out of the box
- updating the software could be easier. In this I mean things such as poi data. As the TomTom home sometimes locks up on my computer.

+ I use my TomTom with Bluetooth to my mobile phone, MP3 player connected to my car stereo. It's safe and easy to use. But just as a SatNav system it has saved me hours of driving around stopping and asking for directions.
- Make sure that you remove all of the system when you leave your car. I left the sucking pad stuck to my windscreen and my car was broken into. Obviously the TomTom is too good.

+ accuracy and ease of use - once you have leaned how!
- Not stated in handbook that need to 'change maps' for North America it is not automatic (why not?). Caused real problems on arrival in US as I had decided to rely on TomTom - so no maps!!!!
Excellent product, would appreciate better or alterantive mounting system less prone to vibration. Use it all the time.

+ Excellent mapping system. Simple user interface. Online backup. Nice large screen and good speaker quality.
- Expensive. Slow first fix on startup. Many Tomtom services are extra at a premium and I was once advised to turn up a one way street which was not a good idea!
Overall the product is a good one but is quite bulky compared to some on the market. Incresing competition should see prices fall to a more realistic level as it is very expensive.

+ Easy to use...turn it on, type where you want to go, and go.
- The unit is quite bulky, but does come with a nice carry pouch.
Would definitely buy again if I needed to buy one more unit.

+ Touch screen, as ive had non touch screen models and they arn't as easy to use.
- It occasionally tells you to turn where the road just move to the left or right and vice versa. The carcase included should hold the screen mount aswell, as i wouldnt leave the screen mount in the vehicle because of potential theft, but thats me being picky.

+ Fully featured gadget.
- Poor mounting. Very poor at finding satellites. Lets you down when you most need it. Too bulky.
Whilst an impressively versatile piece of kit it's actually not very good at its primary design task - navigation.

+ Ease of use. good size screen. No need to change country on through route.
- Difficult to see screen in sunlight. Problems with droop. Problems when disconnecting from computer.
My PDA screen gets brighter in direct sunlight while I almost lose picture on TomTom Go 910 in same situation. Machine appears to be to heavy for its support. Otherwise excellent satnav.

+ VERY ACCURATE, EASY TO USE.
- A LITTLE ON THE LARGE SIZE, GETS CONFUSED WHEN TRAVELLING ON NEW ROADS IE IF ON A NEW MOTORWAY, EVERY 20/30 SECONDS IT TELLS YOU TO TAKE A RIGHT OR A LEFT ALTHOUGH IT QUICKLY GETS BACK ON TRACK WHEN BACK ON EXISTING ROAD NETWORK.

+ Easy to use and set up
- The first unit I had, the voices did not work, on the second model you have to keep resetting the product, normally after charging, sometimes takes a long time to find a valid signal. The inbuilt microphone does not work correctly makeing the hands free feature uselss, you need to use the microphone extension wire or nobody can here you even if you are really close to the unit. The mp3 feature is not particulary great, sound quulity is poor and if using the mp3 indoors, the music keeps pausing and the tomtom keeps saying "you have reached your destination" The unit is also a bit bulky when compared to products such as the TomTom One XL
