+ Ease of use
- No bad points

Gary, Essex, “I must have gadgets”
+ Integrating the bluetooth phone connectivity, mp3 player and IPOD connection and then further integrating this into the existing car stereo via either FM or line makes for a very versatile add on. This is the key differentiator on top of a crowded sat nav market. That said TomTom's sat nav implementation is second to none with it's intuitive interface and the ease of updating MAPs, POIs voices ... and more.
- Different mount from other TomToms meaning if you have a fixed mount (e.g Brodit) you need to another if you're moving between cars or upgrading (from say a TomTom one).

+ Quick and easy to set up. Preloaded with hundreds of places of interest including Government offices - perfect for me as my work involves visiting a lot of local authorities. Perfect size and nice clear mapping. More accurate speedo than the one on my car!
- Sometimes confusing when it tells you to turn left when in fact the road bends to the left - it's caused me to go wrong a couple of times. No audible alarm for speed camera locations.

+ very intuitive to use; recalculates very quickly; calm instructions; ability to save your own Points of Interest(including adding your own categories); Route demos; Itinery planning function if you want to have many via points on a journey (as opposed to just one via point); several options for finding a place - via postcode, address, city, voice instructions, latitude & longtitude & point on map; optional voice instructions to tell you when you are approaching a certain Point of Interest; Speed warning when you go over the speed limit; map corrections; first aid guides, car maintenance guides & country specific traffic regulations guides; "where am I?" function would be good to give this info to roadside recovery if you were broken down.
- when you are planning a journey in Itinery, it doesn't tell you at a glance how long the entire journey would take if you were to just drive through all the via points with no stops, nor does it show you at a glance the estimated time from one part of the itinery to the other; when making map corrections you can't add in when there is a road that is not shown (this happens a lot with small country roads in the south of Ireland). When driving along, you can quickly mark "add position to favourites" which is wonderful, except if you are driving along a road with the same name for several miles & there are several spots you wish to mark - it seems to be only able to store one location for each road and will simply replace your most recent favourite on that stretch of road without telling you it will do that. The search for nearest help option is awful , as in Northern Ireland it would have me believe my nearest police station is either in Scotland or Dublin, so I would recommend this never be relied upon unfortunately.

+ Product offers all that we were looking for- bluetooth capability as well as the normal sat nav facilities with the added bonus of being an MP3 player!
- Package didn't include a carry case which we had to purchase seperately

+ Accuracy and speed of operation brilliant. Bluetooth feature v good FM transmitter OK but gain rather weak so vol on car steroe poor.
- IT WOULD NOT CONNECT TO THE COMPUTER WAS DUFF IN THIS RESPECT AND HAD TO GO BACK. SEEN SAME SYMPTOMS COMPLAINED OF ON SAT NAV FORUMS SO MUST HAVE AN INHERANT FAULLT WHICH I WD NOT WANT TO HAPPEN ONCE OUT OF GUARANTEE. I GUESS WITH SAT NAV PHONES AS STANDARD COMING IN SOON AND MP3 STEROES IT IS ACTUALLY OLD TECHNOLOGY (OR WILL BE BY NEXT YEAR) SO I WOULD NOT GET ANOTHER AND MAY CONSIDER A GARMIN EQUIV INSTEAD. YOUD BETTER SORT THAT WINDOWS CONNECTION FAULT OUT TOMTOM!!

+ the tomtom is a must item to have, easy to use. i bought the 520 go, voice address, bluetooth hands free phone [it puts your phone book inside] and music player . the tomtom is fantastic, it will pay for itself in a few months with its so easy to use, a child could use it . the only slight draw back is,the music player only holds about 14 songs . you can not delete some free songs that come with the tomtom .you have to buy a large memory card to have more songs that will only cost about £10 .but would of been better if already came with the tomtom . but good point with this tomtom is that it connects to the pc.and can set be worked from there, and free updates
- sometime not do the shortest routs. sometimes seem to look for main roads no memory card supplied for music

+ Voice recognition is very good. Mobile phone and Ipod connectivity is very good. Best SatNav unit I have used to date.
- The 3 cables connect into the actual unit rather than the windscreen mount meaning that you have to disconnect and reconnect them every time you take the unit off the window.

+ easy to set up destination
- directions can be confusing. maps not up to date, still showing islands that do not exist, does not recognise a bypass that has been in use for over 12 months trying to set up preferences can be very confusing , time consuming and frustrating

+ Screen is really clear and menus are really easy to access. Always been accurate when I've used it and the hands-free link-up is great.
- MP3 link isn't as good as it could have been, sound quality through my car stereo is great and the interuption of tracks for instructions is annoying at times. While you're on the move, trying to correct anyhing on the SatNav or change settings is fiddly.

+ superb all round device couldnt live without it
- route generation is a joke if you know the area you are travelling in the route it picks is nearly always the most rediculous long way round.

+ this is an absolutely amazing device, its future proof, i connect my ipod to it

+ its very easy to use
- can be quite difficult working out all of the features and functions

+ Instructions are very nice. It correctly tells you required position on the roundabout in advance. Hence there is no hesitation and confusion. Irrespective of incorrect exit on roundabout without showing saying 'Recalculating' it tells another alternative route very quickly.
- It has Bluetooth. You can hear voice of Caller/Called person very well. However, this person can't hear you clearly. I have to see any adjustments required to resolve this problem. If anybody knows then please advise.

+ When you first switch it on it finds your location very quickly
- Connecting to phone very hit or miss Tom tom does not tell you that if you have an exsisting map you may not be able to use the voice to input directions

+ Easy to use straight out of the box, lots of features. Music player through the radio is a great function, together with handsfree calling and voice recognition. Love it.
- Voice recognition isn't effective when you're on the go, as noise levels interfere (however, you're not supposed to operate it whilst driving anyway, so this isn't all bad). You can make updates to the maps, but I've deleted a non-existant roundabout 5 times, but it still tells me that it's there. Sometimes music playing through the radio isn't clear when radio frequency is fuzzy.

+ This product is easy to use, I think the FM capability and hands free is fantastic. I like tat you can record your own voice commands and many other features. When we took a wrong turn, tomtom was quick to recalculate for us and send us on our way. The price was alot cheaper than other products with the same features.
- We haven't used it extensively as yet, but none so far!

+ Easy to use basic sat nav features. Clear instructions from selection of voices. Like the bluetooth and FM links. Once set up. Works a treat.
- Slightly more difficult to figure out more advanced features. Hooking it up to the internet was not pain free. Would be nice if it came with a case. As it's knocked around a bit.

+ Size, clear screen, easy to use without lots of manual reading beforehand
- Doesn't seem to bluetooth to all phone types. Often takes you somewhere one way and directs you back another for no reason. WOuld be good to have a function where you can review or choose the same return journey & a function to store these different methods of reaching the same place.
